Poetry Night 9/16/08

books

anger

still wonder sometimes

right

you also want

then

***********************************************************

who is right

to anger

left to wonder sometimes

if the books

of mother goose

leave one a little misguided

there is no anger there

just rhymes and fun times

mischief well rehearsed

and all is right

not shouting into the night

no crying

no words of spite

you also want the fairy tale

just as we all were led to believe

it exists, missed the mark on that one

shown the truth

in a wicked way

the way life gives you lessons

are a little less proper

a little less prim

a better teacher for the truth

a better choice of words of wisdom

might have been

the true stories

of The Brother's Grim

the books

stacked by the bed

in the floor

tell me no more

about your anger

than the way

you brush your teeth

you sleep

curled to the right

then you wake in the night

and you eat

you also want peace

soft fleece

while i am claws

and chaos with teeth

you pass by

less aggressive

than a zipper

on a fly

i still wonder sometimes

if you threw that wrench

into my plumbing

accidentally

an anomaly
